Seychelles President Patrick Herminie to meet Tamil Nadu Governor in Chennai today

 Seychelles President Patrick Herminie will meet Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi in Chennai today. President Herminie arrived in Chennai yesterday on his first official visit to India. 

 

The visit coincides with the golden jubilee celebration of diplomatic relations between the two countries. 

 

During his five-day trip, Seychelles President will also meet Maharashtra Governor Acharya Devrat in Mumbai. 

 

He will then travel to Delhi to hold talks with President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on bilateral, regional, and international issues of mutual interest.

Maharashtra Civic Poll Campaign Heats Up as Top Leaders Hold Rallies

Campaigning for the 29 municipal corporation elections in Maharashtra has picked up momentum, with senior leaders from various political parties holding intensive rallies across the state. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde addressed public meetings in Pimpri-Chinchwad, where Mr. Fadnavis announced plans to further expand the metro network in the city.



In Pune, the joint manifesto of the Nationalist Congress Party factions led by Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar was released, promising free metro and bus travel for citizens. The Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena also unveiled their manifesto, highlighting free medicines for senior citizens, free travel for women, and a crime-free Pune.



Meanwhile, Chief Minister Fadnavis addressed a rally in Dharavi, Mumbai, assuring that the redevelopment project will be implemented by the state government in partnership with the SRA, with housing for all residents at the same location.



Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also held rallies in Kolhapur and Nashik, appealing for support to preserve heritage and develop smart cities. Campaign activities, including rallies and roadshows, were also held in Ahilyanagar and Sangli as parties released their respective visions and manifestos.

President, Prime Minister extend greetings on Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh

 President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended greetings on the sacred Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th and last Sikh guru. In a social media post, the President said, Sri Guru Gobind Singh, with indomitable courage and rare sagacity, inspired people to live righteously. She added that Sri Guru Gobind Singh welded his followers into a force that would bravely take on far mightier adversaries, driven by the zeal to protect the ideals of justice and self-respect.


 


Prime Minister Modi shared pictures from his visit to Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, one of the holiest Sikh shrines and the birthplace of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, earlier this year. Mr Modi said, Sri Guru Gobind Singh remains an embodiment of courage, compassion and sacrifice. He noted that the 10th Sikh guru’s life and teachings continue to inspire people to stand for truth, justice and righteousness, while upholding human dignity. The Prime Minister added that Sri Guru Gobind Singh’s vision of service and selfless duty has guided generations. The Prime Minister also shared memories from his visit earlier this year to Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, one of the holiest Sikh shrines and the birthplace of Sri Guru Gobind Singh.

J&K has trained 4.29 lakh youth under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana since inception

Jammu & Kashmir has trained 4 lakh 29 thousand and 954 youth under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) since its inception, the Ministry of Labour & Employment has informed the Parliament.


Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the data was shared in response to a Lok Sabha question on employment, skill development and the status of various livelihood schemes being implemented across States and Union Territories.



According to the Ministry, J&K continue to benefit from national employment-linked and skill development programmes, including PMKVY, DDU-GKY and MGNREGA, which together aim to improve employability and create wage and self-employment opportunities.



The ministry said that under MGNREGA, J&K generated Rs. 4.07 crore person-days in 2020-21, Rs. 4.06 crore in 2021-22, Rs. 3.09 crore in 2022-23, Rs. 3.75 crore in 2023-24, and Rs. 4.09 crore person-days in 2024-25. The current financial year (as on November 2025) stands at 2.23 crore person-days.



The ministry informed that under DDU-GKY, J&K trained 1 thousand 88 candidates and placed 628 candidates during 2025-26 up to October 2025. In the previous year, 2024-25, at least 1 thousand 767 youth were trained, and 636 were placed.

Sikkim to host supercar rally under ‘Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan’ initiative

Sikkim will host a special supercar rally as part of the Defence Ministry’s ‘Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan’ initiative from the 12th of this month. The rally will feature 17 high-performance cars travelling across some of the state’s toughest mountain routes to promote battlefield and border tourism. 

 

 

The rally will be flagged off from Sukna in West Bengal and will cover the Siliguri-Gangtok-Cho La-Nathu La-Zuluk circuit before ending on December 15.

 

 

Supported by the Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps and the Sikkim government, the rally also aims to showcase Sikkim as a top destination for driving enthusiasts. Traffic restrictions have been announced on NH-10 for heavy vehicles during the rally period.
